Dreadlock Maintenance
info for
Do your dreads need a little... or huge tidy up? Many people get there dreads tidied before a special event such as a wedding or job interview. The most common maintenance work include dreading the loose hair that grows at the root, tucking in loose hairs and protecting the cylinder shape when they are new and soft.
If you have neglected your hair a bit or have started your dreads the natural way i can also solve problems like separating dreads that have matted together or re-attaching dreads that have fallen off. I provide a non-judgemental environment so never be embarrassed to get them sorted, 9 times out of 10 they can always be saved.
How long does it take?
A full head root tidy up takes on average 3 hours, times will vary depending on how many dreads you have, how new your dreads are and how long its been since your last tidy up.

When the dreads are new you may feel like they need tiding more often until they are matured (fully felted) this can take 6-months to a year. you may feel like getting them tidied every 2/3 months. When matured it is personal preference how often you get them maintained. Just keep on top of seperating them.

can i do anything at home to look after my dreads?
Yes there is! Palm rolling when your dreads are damp, root rubbing the roots, separating the dreads and using a salt water spray or dread locking spray.
how long does it take?
How long it takes depend on certain variants. How messy your dread are, how many dreads you have and how new they are. To get a quote beforehand feel free to send a photo of your dreads.
How do i make the most out of my maintenance session?
Dreadlocks are not known to be an immaculate hairstyle but they will be nice and neat after a maintenance session. To prolong the neatness you can sleep in a silk/satin bonnet or get silk/satin pillow cases. leave it a week or so before washing it afterwards and don't wash more than once a week. Try a salt spray or locking spray.
